DISCO MAN
PETE
EXT. DARK ALLEYWAY - NIGHT
PETE stands outside a metal door smoking a cigarette. He has on a dirty apron and tired eyes. PETE lets out a large sigh and checks his phone.
PETE
Three more hours. You can do it.
PETE lets his cig fall onto the ground. He crunches it with his worn-out shoes.
As PETE goes to open the door, DISCO MAN is heard shuffling down the alley. PETE looks up.
PETE
Fuck. Another drunk.
PETE watches the alley for a second.
PETE
Go home!
Suddenly, a man emerges in a complete disco. He is covered head to toe in little mirrors and he illuminates under the street lamp.
PETE
What the hell.
DISCO
Hello.
PETE
Um. Okay, I’m not doing this tonight.
PETE opens up the door. DISCO MAN runs straight at PETE and slams the door shut.
DISCO
Not until we dance.
PETE
I’m not going to dance, weirdo.
DISCO MAN pulls out a little flashlight of his pocket and holds it up to PETES neck like a knife.
DISCO
Dance or die.
PETE
(scared)
Okay, okay, man. Just put that thing down.
DISCO MAN slowly takes the flashlight away from PETES neck. He turns it on. He flashes it against his body.
DISCO
Oh YEAAAHHHHHH!
DISCO MAN starts to dance. PETE dances timidly and with great fear.
DISCO
(off-pitch)
YOU ARE THE DANCING QUEEN. YOUNG AND SWEET. ONLY SEVENTEEN.
DISCO MAN stops singing.
DISCO
SING!
PETE
(crying)
Dancing queen. Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah. You can dance
BOTH
YOU CAN JIVE. HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE.
They both stop. DISCO MAN looks intensly into the dark.
DISCO
It is time I go.
PETE
Okay, man, just please, don’t hurt me.
DISCO MAN looks at PETE sternly then nods his head in agreement. He starts to do a heroic walk away. Once DISCO MAN is back into the pitch dark of the alley, PETE bends over and tries to breathe.
PETE
Oh god.
DISCO MAN comes storming back up to PETE from the dark with a knife. He swiftly stabs him in the side. DISCO MAN runs off again.
DISCO
(running into the dark again)
OOH, SEE THAT GIRL. WATCH THAT SCENE. DIGGING THE DANCING QUEEN.
