INT. ART STUDIO - DAY
MACY and WEST stand in front of a giant, bright-colored bee statue with a smiley face.
MACY
Wow.
WEST
Yeah, took me about a year or so to restore it.
MACY
Impressive.
WEST
And that stinger in the back? I had to contact a guy all the way back in Italy to get it custom made.
MACY
Wow.
WEST
Here’s the reference photo they gave me.
WEST pulls out a printed image of Barry B. Benson from the Bee Movie.
WEST
It’s a little blurry. That’s all they gave me to work with.
MACY stares at the image, then back at the sculpture.
MACY
You said 17th?
WEST
Early 16th century. Original artist was Rembrandt if you can believe it.
MACY
(baffled)
Shocking.
WEST
Mmmhm. I’m just honored the museum trusted me with this piece.
MACY and WEST look on at the giant bee. It is anything but a Rembrandt piece.
MACY
Looks very...modern.
WEST
That’s what we was going for.
MACY
Mmm.
WEST
Yeah. Cool, right?
MACY
Very! I’m just...shocked is all.
WEST
I didn’t think I’d ever get it done either.
Beat.
MACY
Rembrandt? Really?
WEST
Ohhhhhh yeah.
